ABOUT ONWARE

Onware is an Edmonton and Houston-based company originally founded as a spin-off of the University of Alberta in 2002. We have extensive technical, data, analytics and software knowledge clients need, and decades of practice applying it specifically within the construction industry.


ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a proactive Project Manager to lead, organize, and serve as a liaison between our tight-knit team and customers, ensuring the successful execution of project lifecycles and the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Preferred location would be Edmonton, AB and/or Houston, TX.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the primary point of contact and liaison between our team and the customer, ensuring clear communication and understanding of project objectives.
  • Using Salesforce to track projects from inception through completion. Find ways to maximize usage of our current tools to streamline processes and enhance project tracking, recognizing the simplicity needed for the team's workflow.
  • Identify and communicate potential roadblocks proactively within our close-knit team, working collaboratively to develop solutions.
  • Ensure the timely resolution of issues to keep projects on track, following timelines and service levels.
  • Prioritize multiple projects involving various end users by meeting deadlines and effectively communicating status updates, recognizing the impact on our team's workload.
  • Maintain a proper log of deliverables, change requests, and time tracking, emphasizing the importance of clear documentation within the team.
  • Keep accurate records of project completion, budget allocation, and resource planning.
  • Promote a culture of accountability within our team, ensuring milestones and commitments are well-planned and implemented.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement, harnessing our agility to implement strategies for enhanced project efficiency and quality.
  • Exhibit superb communication skills, both written and verbal, ensuring clear and effective communication within our team and with clients.
  • Display expert attention to detail in all aspects of project planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Showcase excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, addressing challenges collaboratively and leveraging the strengths of our team.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of the project lifecycle for software development and technical-related deliverables, tailored to the dynamics of our team.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Project Management, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • 5 to 7 years of proven experience as a Project Manager in a custom software development environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce, Jira, GitHub.
  • Proficient in project management tools and methodologies.
